Our unique methodology combines the practical tools of correct sound production, with tried and tested techniques to use intonation and melody of English speech to speak confidently and effectively in English.

We don’t simply aim to make a person sound English, (although this is possible if you want it), our goal is to give you the practical tools to expressing yourself in English, as clearly and effectively as possible.

Our approach to teaching you new  sounds:

We know that everyone can make these new sounds, we have the same physiology after all, but often it is the habit and the mental blocks that get in the way.  At LSW we have an approach to learning that is simple, fun and accessible.

‘Rewiring the brain’

Our brains are hardwired to respond in certain physical ways when we see certain letters, and this is at the bottom of an accent. So the trick is, rewiring the brain to respond in a different way. It’s just like going to the gym, but for the brain. We come at the sound from a different angle, not only is it possible, its fun too.

‘Psychology of English Speech’

Alot of our ideas are focused on the  psychology of how to use the language more effectively. Involving intonation, fluid speech, inflection and emphasis. So these are things like how to use pausing, how to unit up your speech so its more effective, how to use emphasis, how to use vowel sounds to connect with people. How to use consonants to appear more efficient…

‘Using your words to achieve your goals’

Our approach is very much a duel focus between accurate sounds and effective speaking, but in essence, its all about how your words effect the other person, and what you would like your words to achieve. And we give you techniques on how to achieve these goals. Simple, useable, practical and highly effective techniques.
