All LSW teachers are expert voice coaches who have extensive experience in working with voice and accents, as well as top level training in Britain’s leading drama and vocal training institutions. They all share a passion for words and language and empowering people to reach their full potential as communicators. All of them have trained extensively with Emma in the unique LSW Approach to communication and Accent Softening.

Emma Serlin
EMMA SERLIN – Course Director
London Speech Workshop was founded by Emma in 2008, when, after working with private clients for several years, she saw there was a demand for high quality courses in English Pronunciation. Emma developed the courses after analyzing her successes with her private clients, and continues to offer the focused and passionate teaching which has characterized her private work. Emma trained as an actor at the Oxford School of Drama in 2003, and from there she went on to become a successful theatre director and producer, running her own theatre company for several years.
EMMA VANE – Tutor
Emma Vane has been working for several years as a Voice and Accent coach, working with a wide range of clients, from vicars through to lawyers and actors. Having gained a degree in English at the University of Kent, she then trained at Central School of Speech and Drama gaining a Masters in Voice. Emma is also a trained professional actress and voice artist for radio, film, television and recorded media; it is continuous work in these industries which inform her teaching practice. Emma believes that to speak well in any accent – one needs energy, sincerity and passion behind the spoken words.

JAMIE CHAPMAN – Tutor
Jamie trained as a teacher of Speech and Drama with the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and holds their Licentiate Teacher’s Diploma (LLAM Hons). He has some 14 years’ experience in working with both international and UK students on accent softening, vocal technique and presentation skills. Jamie is also a professional actor (having trained at the prestigious Bristol old Vic Theatre School) and has worked at theatres up and down the country – (including a years run in the British classic ‘The Mousetrap’ in the West End) as well as being in the cast of various television serials. He is an excellent and passionate teacher, deeply committed to his work facilitating accent softening and effective communication with London Speech Workshop.
DOLLY MAY – Tutor
Dolly May is an experienced and professional voice coach who came to her career through her lifelong passion for singing and exploring the potential of the human voice. She trained in Voice Studies at the prestigious school of Central School of Speech and Drama and her passion for teaching voice has also seen her work in a diverse range of contexts leading choirs, designing and facilitating voice courses, and teaching pronunciation and communication skills to both native non-native professionals. Dolly always works in a client-centered way, valuing the individual and their unique development. Underpinning her work is a belief that everyone has a right to a non-judgemental access to learning, to individual growth and to personal vocal confidence.
SUE CULLEN – Tutor
Sue Cullen is a postgraduate of the prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama [CSSD], with an MA in Voice Studies. Susan is able to draw upon a professional career spanning more than 25 years, during which she has worked with a portfolio of professional clients in accent reduction, the maximising of vocal fluency and in the building of confidence and the development of effective presentation skills. She was formerly chief vocal coach at the Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama in Nottingham, and has been a guest lecturer at Central School of Speech and Drama, London Studio Centre and The Urdang Academy. Susan combines a freelance performing career with her work as a vocal coach for London Speech Workshop and performance coach for business. Her expertise covers the full range of vocal, postural and presentational skills.
